We are experiencing the heights of the plateau. We are here at an altitude of more than 1000 meters from where you can look over the magnificent landscapes of the Mourela Plateau and the Gerês mountain range. At this spot, near Alto do Padinho, the border is marked by boundary stone number 78, reminding us again of the existence of the two countries. Despite the administrative limits, the old trails and paths we can see on the ground show that the border has long been a place of connection rather than division.
