Lamas de Mouro Park Gate belongs to Melgaço local authority and is dedicated to providing reception, recreation and information for visitors to the Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG).

There are 5 such entrance ‘gates’ in the National Park (one in each municipality that forms part of the protected area) and each has a specific theme. The central theme of Lamas de Mouro Gate is land planning. This is highlighted in the multimedia content and thematic exhibitions inside the building.

The external zone comprises a large leisure area, framed by a natural woodland and environmental paradise (itself highlighting the floral diversity of the area), with several recreational areas, seating, bathing and snacks, together with facilities and support equipment in a Picnic Park.
