A slight detour along the route takes us to the Tibo viewpoint. With its altitude of 800 meters the viewpoint provides one of the most beautiful outlooks over the imposing Peneda mountains and valley, as well as to the valley of the Laboreiro, before this opens out into the river Lima in the Alto Lindoso reservoir. The village of Tibo features in the foreground, set on the banks of the river Pomba and surrounded by wheat fields. In the distance there is a glimpse of the shrine of the Lady of Peneda, sheltered in its deep and green valley. To the west can be seen Gavieira and above this the branda (summer village) of São Bento do Cando.

If you have binoculars this is a great spot to try and watch for birds of prey in flight. Enjoy some time sitting on the viewpoint benches and take in the beauty of this bucolic environment
