In this point, already very close to the village of Peneda, there is a narrow ribbon of small agricultural fields which make use of the alluvial soil formed by erosion and deposition from the river system. The agriculture practiced here is subsistence. Seasonal crops are intended to meet the needs of families and to feed the animals. Small agricultural plots confront wooded areas that also provide resources that have been traditionally used through generations. The common lands in the woods are also mainly used for grazing.
