Paradamonte is intertwined in the history of Electricity of Portugal. This village, situated within the parish of Britelo, developed as a consequence of the installation of the first major hydroelectric power plant in the country. In addition to the Hydroelectric workers' housing, we can see, on the route through the village, the old EDP constructions such as complementary industrial buildings (wells, water channels pipelines), as well as social and cultural support facilities, notably the EDP Holiday Camp and the Chapel of Santa Isabel of Hungary.
