A promontory with a beautiful view of the Village of Gerês, which was once the scene of the love story of a fugitive nun from Porto who, with her lover, took refuge here in the hills of Gerês. Apart from this legend Penedo da Freira is a charming place, overshadowed by the canopy of an oak tree, which invites one to contemplate, meditate, relax or even read or do some painting.
