Another inverneira of Castro Laboreiro, also located on the right bank of the river, at about 800 meters altitude, in a relatively sheltered place. This consists of just over half a dozen houses, very close to each other, surrounded by small cultivated fields and pastures and by a magnificent oak wood.
The location of the settlement is certainly not accidental in its proximity to the Barreiro stream, tributary of the Castro Laboreiro. A highlight is the Barreiro bridge, a crossing point over the Barreiro stream, probably built in medieval times, providing one of the main lines of connection between the brandas and inverneiras.
A few meters to the north is another nucleus of seasonal dwellings, the inverneira of Barreiro, which some people do not differentiate from the inverneira of Ponte do Barreiro, referring to the pair as Barreiro.
